native, Mickey Factz, has released his I’m
Better Than You mixtape hosted by Heavyhitters DJ Enuff and DJ Quiz.
The
mixtape, which was several months in the making, features production by Don Cannon, Big,K.R.I.T.,
Precize and Mickey Factz himself.
Featured artists on the mixtape include artists like Hip-Hop legends Bun B and Fat Joe.“This mixtape is an extension of myself in music form,” Mickey told AllHipHop.com in a
statement. “From the opening track
your hit with the trials and tribulations that have engulfed my life. When I
say I’m Better Than You, its not directed towards any particular person. That
statement is aimed at my former self.”Since dropping out of NYU to pursue music, Mickey Factz has successfully created a
following in the US and overseas by releasing six mixtapes, including 2007’s
critically acclaimed Heaven’s Fallout.
In
the four short years since making the decision to leave his studies for a
career in music, Factz has performed around the world and has worked with
numerous artists including Drake, B.O.B, Afrika Bambaataa, Travis McCoy and
others.
In
2009 Mickey caught the attention of Honda and became the face of their “Rhymes
and Reason” campaign and was featured in a national ad campaign.
Mickey
is currently signed to Battery Records on an album deal and is currently
preparing his debut project.Most
recently Mickey Factz was featured on the cipher during BETs Hip Hop Awards,
which airs Tuesday, Oct 12th.
